They are small geodes formed when an under-water volcano erupts, sending out millions of gases and particles that collect to form a crystalline structure inside the cavity. The crystals inside may be of Amethyst, Citrine, Tourmaline, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz and Calcite to name a few. We even have seen some which have little filaments of Hematite.
